It takes a lot more than a group of educational consultants to run a successful educational consultancy. Here are a few members of the SchoolMatcher team, who are primarily highly experienced senior educational consultants. Some have children of their own and parents therefore have a first-hand understanding of some of the pressures associated with parenting!
Laurence James
Graduate of Cardiff Art College in 1972, Laurence went on to postgraduate studies at Cardiff University . Laurence taught Art to Special Needs pupils in London and attained the post of Deputy Headteacher. In 1984, Laurence became Founding Deputy Principal of Colegio de Vilamoura in Portugal . In 1988, he became Principal and Chairman of the Headteacher's Association of British Curriculum Schools in Portugal . Upon his return to the UK , he became Principal of an International Boarding School . Throughout his appointments, Laurence has gained invaluable experience in International Marketing. Laurence's experience in dealing with pupils of all nationalities, including those coming from overseas to the UK, fills parents with confidence when leaving their children to be placed at an Independent day or boarding school virtually anywhere in the UK.
David Arrowsmith
Gained qualified teaching status in 1976 and soon after graduated with degrees in Mathematics and Computing. David taught in State Schools for ten years attaining the post of Head of Mathematics. He joined the International Independent Sector in 1986 and attained the positions of Vice Principal and Marketing Director. In recent years he has gone on to become a Marketing Director in Switzerland and has extensive knowledge of world-wide marketing. David's vast knowledge and links with Independent schools give SchoolMatcher optimal coverage and rapport with schools in the UK , allowing us to find the right match for pupils from all backgrounds.
